Pouch Style Sheath
This Bushcraft sheath is a simple pouch design. The knife sits deep within the pouch, and retained by the molded leather of the sheath. The knife is secure, yet easy to draw from the sheath.
Riveted Belt Loop
The Bushcraft Sheath's 1" wide belt loop is riveted to the sheath with 4 steel tubular rivets for the most solid belt loop mounting you can get. These tubular rivets are compressed well below the surface of the leather, removing any risk of scratching your knife inside the sheath.
Optional Dangler Belt Loop
With the addition of the Dangler belt loop, this will drop the sheath lower and allow the sheath to pivot and move with you. The Dangler drops the sheath approximately 4". Our Dangler belt loop features a notched D-Ring that can slip over the belt loop without tools. For sheaths ordered with the Dangler belt loop, we add an extra little feature to the sheath's riveted belt loop. To minimize excess movement of the Dangler D-Ring within the belt loop on the sheath, we added a screw post to capture the D-ring at the top of the belt loop. This makes the draw easier, and allows the sheath to carry more comfortably. This screw post can be removed, followed by slipping the D-ring off the belt loop to carry the sheath on the standard riveted belt loop. NOTE: We only add this feature to sheaths ordered with a Dangler Belt Loop at the same time. If you order a sheath without a Dangler belt loop with the intention of ordering a Dangler belt loop later on, the sheath's riveted belt loop will NOT have this feature.
Firesteel Loop
This allows you to carry a firesteel on your sheath. Available in 3 sizes: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8". These sizes refer to the diameter of the firesteel rod.
Water Resistant Wax Treatment
Each of our sheaths is waxed inside and out with a Beeswax based Leather Conditioner. We apply this Leather Conditioner with heat, which liquefies the wax so it penetrates deep into the leather fibers. Our wax treatment in the interior of the sheath ensures that moisture will not be trapped within the sheath, to avoid the chance of rust forming on your blade.
Made from Premium Wickett & Craig Saddle Skirting Leather
Each sheath is made from Wickett & Craig's Grade A, 9-10oz, Vegetable Tanned, Saddle Skirting Leather. We chose this leather as it is firm, yet workable, has a rich depth of color, and develops a beautiful patina with character throughout its life.
