Product Overview
These strops were made with portability in mind, for you need a quick edge touch up in the field. The leather is mounted onto a piece of Canvas Micarta, and features serrations that give you a lot of grip in a small package. Available loaded with Green Stropping Compound, or Bare if you would like to apply your own.
The Green strop compound is considered a general purpose compound. Also known as Rouge, Strop compounds are composed of wax and impregnated with a fine polishing abrasive. The compounds are separated by colors dictating the "grit" of the rouge. It is not recommended to mix different grit compounds with strops. If you choose to use a different strop compound, it should be loaded onto a new strop.

What is a Strop exactly?
A strop is a piece of leather with a micro abrasive infused into the fibers of the leather. When sharpening your knife with an abrasive stone or rod, it will leave a very small "burr" on your knife edge. This is a microscopic piece of the knife steel that is still remaining on the edge, and needs to be removed from the edge as the final step of sharpening. After using your knife for various tasks, the edge will dull on the high points of its edge. When in the field, you can use the strop to polish your edge, and regain some of that sharpness. By periodically stropping your knife, your cutting edge will last longer before it will need a resharpened.
