The No. 8 SERE sheath is an updated version of our old Randall sheaths. It is made from Grade A 9.5oz Wickett & Craig Vegtan leather, and features a 1/8" thick Kydex Belt Loop Backer which allows the use of multiple belt loop options, as well as kydex keeper tabs which hold the retention strap back and out of the way in order to avoid cutting the retention strap. The sheath is ambidextrous, and is offered in two versions, the Basic and the Deluxe. The Basic is our simplified, streamlined sheath without eyelets. The Deluxe version features mounting eyelets on both sides of the sheath, for attaching accessories such as firesteels, or sharpening rods (using our Kydex Firesteel Loop). It has has Leg Tie eyelets on the bottom, which can be used with paracord for tying off to your leg.
This sheath comes with the Standard Belt Loop, but additional belt loop carry options are-
In order to mount a Kydex Firesteel Loop, you must order the Deluxe version. You will need the "Type A" style.
Threadlocker is recommended for the hardware. You can purchase some here - Loctite 242 (Blue) Threadlocker
NOTICE: This sheath is Vertical Carry only, it cannot be converted to Scout (Horizontal) carry.
This Sheath will ONLY fit the No. 8 SERE. Knife is NOT included. Firesteel, Sharpener, and/or mounting loop are sold separately.
